ATTRACTIONS
Glacier
National Park
The park is 8 miles away on Highway 2. Turn left to enter the village
of West Glacier and your fun begins. Just past the town is the park entrance.
There are many ways to see the park - hiking, boating, bicycles, car,
the classic red "Jammer" tour buses and the new free shuttle
buses. 2007 was the launch of this shuttle service and rider ship was
300% higher than expected. More busses are planned for 2008. It is a great
way to get around the park and not worry about parking or driving scary
mountain road.
Hungry
Horse Reservoir
Hungry Horse Reservoir, 23,813 acres on the South Fork of the Flathead
River, is created by the upper-most dam in the Columbia River hydro-power
system. It is one of a handful of watersheds in Montana where bull trout
populations are healthy. The reservoir receives very little angling pressure
and the many hidden bays can provide you with the solitude that you cannot
find on larger water bodies. Tour the Hungry
Horse Dam visitor center to learn the challenges overcome in the 1953
construction project. 8 miles from the cabin.
Amazing Fun Center
When you need a break from the nature hikes, enjoy a visit to this family
park near Coram. You will find a maze with 4 corner lookouts to plan your
next move, miniature golf, bumper boats, zippy go-carts, and "modified"
basketball hoops. The go-carts are our family favorite. Just 1.5 miles
from the cabin it is a quick fill-in trip for cranky kids (big or little).
Big
Sky Waterpark
A visit to this waterpark will bring enjoyment for your entire family.
Younger children can use the wading pool and a mini-slide. Big kids of
all ages will enjoy the larger straight slides, giant slides with twists
and turns and the river ride with inner tubes. The daring can try the
extreme rides. Picnic tables, a snack bar, hot tub and gift shop round
out your visit.
Whitefish
Resort
Offers family fun both summer and winder. Check out their website for
various activities and programs.
