Winters are wonderful and the road is plowed to the cabin. We often cross country ski around the pond or in the forest nearby. The road in Glacier Park is plowed to Lake McDonald Lodge and you can ski or snowshoe from there up the road past the Dancing Cascades. There are also private groomed trails near West Glacier. Downhill enthusiasts make the 30 minute drive to Whitefish Resort (formerly Big Mountain), a nationally known destination ski area. This photo was taken after log restoration.
